Last time @ JJ's.....the Summer RCPM Show

With the new RCPM show announcement for January 31st, I found some shots of JJ's from the last time I was there and took photos.
....it was the Sunday Post Show Party back in May of 2008.

This is a shot of the patio......I guess where the guy is singing is where the stage will be set up for Roger and the gang.

Roger at the meet and greet...

We probably will drink a few of these in January......shorts and flip flops could be an issue, but a good time none the less I hope.

Someone is out there.....for those of you who do not know, Myaann has a great blog about Rocky Point. I check it out at least twice a week....some times every day. The link is http://mynparty.blogspot.com/

She added my link for the RCPM show.....Thanks. I plan to add her blog site to the message board for RCPM.....many fans go to this site for Mexico related things and I am sure they will like her Blog.

Something to look forward to!!!

Another RCPM Show has been added.....January 31, 2009 @ JJ's. Good news in light of how I feel.....I needed that boost!
Gloomy day in the Valley of the Sun. Hard to be excited about anything. Checked out a blog from a person in Isla Majerus......we had been there when we were in Cancun. Cool place but too small for me.

The Playa Encanto web site has some great photos of the sea turtles that hatched on our beach.....very cool and I am sorry that I missed that. Maybe we can be there some day to see it in person. Take a look.....http://www.playa-encanto.com/

This is the view that we fell in love with.

When I show people this photo and tell them that this wonderful place is only 60 miles south of the Arizona boarder most do not believe it.  The beach is only 60 steps from our back patio and we have a private access.

We have been to a lot of beaches all over Latin America and this beach is one of the best in the world in my opinion.  We just got back from Cancun, and I think our beach is better......I know it is not white sand, but the beach is cleaner, the swimming is safer, and no crowds.  More later on the house and such, but I could not let the first day with the blog go by without posting this photo.....next up Roger Clyne, fun in the sun, and other good stuff.

Start of Something New

This is the first post for me ever.....

I have started this blog in an effort to get on paper (or at least the 21 century kind) some of our adventures and experiences with our home away from home in Puerto Penasco. Some other stuff may filter in from time to time as life has a way of doing that.

Lets start with the beginning.

For many years we visited Mexico. My perspective of this place was not of new hotels, condo pools, or restaurants, but of the beach, sand, and the solitude of camping. At the time camping was what we could afford and we made the pilgrimage south many times a year to a place called El Gulfo. We did not camp at El Gulfo, but 25 to 30 miles south along the beach. Back then (the late 1990's), many times and closest camp was 5 miles away. One needs to love the beach to camp for 4 to 5 days in a place like this......but we loved it. Everything from sand storms, broken trucks, to federal police was part of the adventure. Times change and sleeping on the ground with sand in your hair became less glamorous and we re-discovered Puerto Penasco. This was not the same town that I had visited during my ASU days. This new Rocky Point became our place.....we grew to know the restaurants we liked, the beaches that were the best and started to really think long and hard about buying some land and building a house there. The problem at the time (2005 and 2006) was that prices were just going through the roof. We made offers on land that never went through, Realtors who really knew nothing, and disappointment after disappointment were the norm. We finally found our spot in late 2006 in Playa Encanto.....a great piece of sand, that had potential, a price we could afford, and a great owner who let us get our bank trust done before we had to give him all the money (a rare case in those days). Then started the adventure of the design, the money, and building in a new country with new rules and expectations.....but that is all done and we have a new home to enjoy. More to come as this is just the beginning. I plan to post some of the things we have done in Puerto Pensaco over the past six months since the house has been done (the house was basically done in May of 2008), as well as the new happenings.
